Our kids are rotten.

So my friend Gloria and I were talking on the phone during our hour long commutes about our grown children who lack goals and live day to day. We both concluded that they were too spoiled and we should have let them suffer more when they were young.

We compare ourselves to other people who let their kids run the streets, stay home alone at a young age for long periods of time, lived in the hood paying less expensive rents and their children tend to work harder, look forward to furthering their education and other long-term goals.

What the hell did we do wrong?! How could that be?! We could've saved ourselves a lot of money instead of sending them to day camps where you had to pay extra to be able to pick them up after work during the summer. I could've slept in on weekends as opposed to getting up early going to sports games, then the usual afternoon birthday party(+ gift money for some other bratty kid from school that you could care two shits about) to come home too tired to drive into the city for a nice dinner and drinks or to take a bath without having to be worried about what to do with a child who's overly stimulated due to too many birthday treats. I've been doing this for so long, I have a hard time sleeping past 7am on the weekends or during vacations.

So, we've started an experiment. The next child goes to an at-risk public school, can stay out after the lights come on, is a latchkey kid at 7 years old, can drink sodas at any time of night, spends most of the time watching t.v., rides in the back of the station wagon without a seatbelt, wears shoes until holes wear through the bottoms and patched knees on their pants, will only go to the doctor for vaccinations (after the school has put them out) or they're coughing up a lung...

It's amazing how right you are... I think most parents feel guilty about things, whether it be being a single parent, working too many long hours, trying to have a social life that does not include them. For onreason or another some parents get caught in the old trap of "the more I give them, the less they will want for". Truth is it just doesn't work.
I remember being a kid and my mother working at night and leaving us at home. There would be times when we would have to meet her at the bus stop to walk with her home. Nowadays, the kids cry when they are told they have to walk anywhere!!!! Funny how times have changed...
Don't even think about asking them to help with the dishes... they lose their minds... Funny...

I think I wanna adopt!

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article
seem to be running off the screen in Ie. I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to
let you know. The design and style look great though!

Hope you get the problem solved soon. Cheers

Howdy! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website?

I'm getting tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Hola! I was curious to know if setting up a web site such your own: is challenging to do for unskilled people?
I have been hoping to create my own website for a while
now but have been turned off mainly because I've always assumed it required tons of work. What do you think? Thanks!

Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from
somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make
my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme.

Exploring I noticed your blog bookmarked as: Blogger: National Community of Lesbian
Families. Now I am assuming you book-marked it yourself
and wanted to ask if social book-marking gets you a large
amount of targeted traffic? I've been contemplating doing some bookmarking for a few of my websites but wasn't sure if it would
produce any positive results. Thank you so much.
